At the Final Four for over 20 years!

Hammond is excited to get back on the road this March (and for the next 5 years!) providing media support services for the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship. Furthermore, this year’s production will be a little different than years past as we will be broadcasting in HD for the first time.

With a team of 6 at each site during the March tournament, Hammond has over 50 professionals managing and producing each venue’s interview room, where coaches and players are subject to the media’s questions. For each arena, Hammond engineers a video courtesy system so the media and NCAA representative can view game and press feed on monitors throughout the facility including courtside. In addition, the press conference feed is distributed through satellite to the national press via an onsite uplink truck.

Hammond has spent the last few months designing and building 8 High Definition flypacks to be used in the on-location production of press conferences. The flypacks feature two HD cameras, switcher, SD conversion, HD/SD mult boxes, audio reinforcement package, recording devices and more.  These flypacks will accompany our crew’s stationed across the US for the entire tournament.
